Find Storey County Released Inmates

Storey County released inmates may leave local custody for the community, supervision, state prison, or another lawful custodian. A Storey County released inmate search must therefore start with the system that held the person. Storey County released inmates are confirmed through local booking and release records, court files, state corrections data, or a federal locator as the facts require. To search for Storey County released inmates, first establish whether the person is still held, then match the release event to the right agency and record.

Storey County Release Meanings

A release record answers a focused question: when and how did custody under one booking or sentence end? It does not always mean the person walked free. Storey County Detention Center may release someone on bail, on written pretrial terms, after time served, at the end of a local sentence, or under a court order. The jail may also transfer a person to the Nevada Department of Corrections, ICE, or another lawful custodian. Each event ends Storey County custody, but only some place the person in the community.

The agency that receives the person controls the next record. A county booking and release record is the best proof of the physical jail exit. A Justice Court or District Court order explains the legal basis. An NDOC record follows a state-prison transfer. Nevada S.A.V.E. can send notice of an event, but it is supplemental and is not a certified release record. An oral answer from detention is useful for current status, though it may not preserve the full history.

The terms are distinct. Time served means the court credited enough time already spent in custody to satisfy the ordered term. Parole is release from prison under supervision. Probation is court-ordered supervision that may occur without a prison term. Discharge means a sentence or supervision term has formally ended. A detainer is another agency's request or authority to hold or receive a person.

Storey County Release Paths

Storey County has not published its internal release-code list. The produced record must supply the exact wording. These paths describe the verified local possibilities without assigning an unsupported code to any person.

PathWhat it meansBest next record
Bail or pretrial releaseThe person leaves jail under court-set terms.Storey release record and court order
Time served or sentence completeThe local custody term has ended.Jail timestamp and judgment
Dismissal or court orderThe court supplies the legal basis for release.Justice or District Court file

A name that vanishes from local custody does not settle which row applies. Ask for the release type or disposition and destination or receiving agency, if maintained. Use “transferred” when the record shows a handoff. Do not call that person free.

Storey Pretrial Release Conditions

Storey County Pretrial Services explains that a hearing determines bail and release conditions when the State seeks detention. The person receives those conditions in writing. A person can be outside the detention center yet remain subject to testing, a no-alcohol term, a monitoring device, or a location rule. The written order explains that status far better than roster absence.

Pretrial release is not parole. It occurs while a case is pending, not after release from a state-prison sentence. Confirm the physical exit with the jail record, then use the proper court file for the conditions and legal authority. A later warrant, remand, or modification can change the status. Remand means the court orders the person back into custody.

Storey County Release Record Fields

A narrow request should tie the event to one booking. This guards against confusing people with similar names and separates the jail exit from a later state release. Storey County does not publish a web field set, so request the existing fields and accept the agency's actual labels.

FieldWhat it can show
Full name and aliasesThe identity used for the booking
Booking numberThe local event that ties the fields together
Booking timestampWhen Storey custody began for that event
Release timestampWhen Storey custody ended
Release dispositionThe agency's recorded reason or type
Associated chargesCharges linked to that booking
DestinationA receiving agency or transfer location, if maintained
Booking photographThe image tied to the booking, if disclosable

For state custody, NDOC's release download uses four exact fields: offender_id, offender_book_id, release_date, and release_desc. The portal describes its data as raw and unofficial. Preserve the identifiers and source wording, then request the official record when a date or description must be settled.

Request Storey County Release Records

The Storey County public-record instructions direct requesters to select the Sheriff or other proper department. Ask for an identifiable existing booking and release record, not research or a new report. Give a full name, known aliases, an approximate date range, and a booking number if known. Request electronic delivery and name the fields needed. Do not place passwords, financial data, medical facts, Social Security numbers, or driver-license numbers in the emailed submission.

  1. Confirm whether detention still holds the person by calling 775-847-0929.
  2. Submit a narrow request through the county process and identify the booking or date range.
  3. Ask for booking and release times, disposition, associated charges, and destination if maintained.
  4. Track the submission date and keep each written response or request for clarification.
  5. If denied, preserve the cited legal authority and consider a narrower request.

Under NRS Chapter 239, NRS 239.0107 supplies a fifth-business-day response framework. By that point, an agency generally must produce the record, identify a known custodian if it lacks the record, give written delay notice and an estimated date, or issue a written denial with authority. It is not a guarantee of final production within five days. Storey publishes no sheriff-specific copy price for this record.

The county says records with no approved matching retention schedule are retained indefinitely, while scheduled records follow the applicable minimum. That statement does not create one fixed retention period for all jail records. The county's official request page is shown below. It confirms the correct route for historical Storey County release evidence.

Storey Release Counts in Context

The 2024 Storey County Master Plan reports 283 sheriff arrests during 2023 and a jail capacity of 25 adults. Those figures describe law-enforcement activity and physical capacity. Arrests are not the same as bookings, and bookings are not releases. No official annual Storey County release total was found, so the arrest figure must never be presented as a released-inmate count.

Small scale changes the search method. A precise detention call and a booking-specific records request matter more than a large roster interface because Storey publishes no current roster, recent-release feed, or archive.

Storey Release Records and Sealing

Nevada generally calls the remedy sealing, not routine expungement. Under NRS 179.245, many waiting periods run from release from actual custody or discharge from parole or probation, whichever occurs later. That makes the physical release date and the later supervision-discharge date separate facts. NRS 179.2445 creates a rebuttable presumption favoring sealing when its requirements are met, subject to exceptions.

Storey Justice Court's sealing information says a written request may seek sealing for decriminalized offenses without a fee, excluding traffic matters. Other sealing matters use court forms. A sealed case can vanish from public view. A blank search therefore does not prove that no booking, release, or court event occurred. Juvenile and other confidential records may also be unavailable through public channels.

Find Storey County Released Inmates

No official Storey County current roster, 24-hour list, 72-hour list, release archive, or online mugshot gallery was found as of July 28, 2026. That is a finding about published tools, not proof that the Sheriff lacks internal records. A released person ordinarily drops from a live custody view, so even a roster would be the wrong historical source.

  1. Call Storey County Detention Center to ask whether the person remains in local custody.
  2. Request the booking and release record to document a past jail exit or transfer.
  3. Use Justice Court for misdemeanor, bail, and local pretrial matters; use District Court for felony and general-jurisdiction files.
  4. Search NDOC only when evidence points to a state-prison transfer or Nevada prison history.
  5. Check Nevada S.A.V.E. for event notice, then confirm the alert with the agency record.
  6. Use BOP or ICE only when facts support a federal or immigration custody path.

A missing name is weak evidence. It may reflect release, transfer, a spelling issue, an alias, sealing, confidentiality, or use of the wrong custody system.

The Storey County Detention Center release route gives the local facility contact and verified exit paths. For a named person, always match the booking, case, Offender ID, or other reliable identifier before joining records from different systems.

Storey Released Inmates in NDOC

The NDOC offender search applies after a state transfer or for a person with Nevada prison custody. Search by last name, first name, or Offender ID. The interface supports partial-name searching with an asterisk. Its results can expose identity, custody or sentence status, and release information, while downloadable data connects releases to booking and offender identifiers.

Storey Release Records in Court

Court routing is unusually important here. Virginia Township Justice Court handles local criminal and misdemeanor matters, bail, and many pretrial records. The First Judicial District Court handles felony and general-jurisdiction files. A court order may explain why release was authorized, yet it may be entered before jail processing ends. Use the jail timestamp for the physical exit.

The county's “Search Records” feature covers land, marriage, and related records. It is not a criminal-case search. Nevada Supreme Court and Court of Appeals portals are appellate systems, not a statewide trial-court database. Request local court documents from the correct clerk rather than sending a court request through the county's general public-record portal.

Storey Releases Under Supervision

A Nevada parole decision, prison exit, and supervision discharge are separate events. Board calendars and monthly actions document consideration and decisions. NDOC records the prison event. Nevada Division of Parole and Probation records establish active supervision and eventual discharge. A parole eligibility date is not a promised gate date because placement approval, detainers, and pre-release processing can delay the physical release.

Storey County's resource pages do not identify a dedicated corrections reentry office. Health and Community Services serves as a liaison to support agencies, and the county directory lists Community Chest and Healthy Communities Coalition. These are general support-navigation resources, not verified correctional reentry providers or supervision offices. Formal parole or probation questions belong with NPP. The supervising office must be verified because nearby northern offices include Carson City and Reno, and a local case does not by itself prove which office has the assignment.

Storey Release Alerts Through SAVE

The Storey Sheriff links the current Nevada S.A.V.E. portal. Nevada moved from VINE/VINELink to S.A.V.E. in 2025. Older VINELink directions can therefore be stale. S.A.V.E. can help search participating custody data and register for custody-change notice, but an alert is supplemental. Confirm the event with detention, the release record, or NDOC as appropriate.

The official S.A.V.E. gateway is shown below. It is more relevant to a Storey custody alert than an old VINE page.

The gateway supports notice and search, while the originating agency remains the source for certified release facts.

Storey Releases and Federal Custody

The BOP inmate locator covers federal inmates from 1982 forward. “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody,” with a date, describes BOP custody only. It does not establish the end of state custody, immigration detention, parole, or federal supervised release. Use a unique federal identifier where possible and consult the federal docket for the sentence.

ICE ODLS is useful only when evidence suggests an immigration handoff. It mainly locates current ICE detainees or qualifying CBP detainees, not historical releases. A blank result may mean release, transfer, a coverage limit, timing, or a search mismatch. No Storey County ICE facility or detention contract was verified.

Storey Release Sources Compared

Choose the source by custody type and question. One system cannot establish every stage.

When timestamps conflict, ask whether each is an order time, alert time, scheduled time, transfer time, or actual release time. Storey County uses Pacific Time. Preserve the time zone and source for every event.

Evidence should be ranked by the fact it proves. The booking and release record is strongest for the physical Storey jail exit. A court order is strongest for the legal authority. An NDOC release or discharge record addresses state-prison custody, while an NPP discharge document addresses the later end of supervision. These records may all be accurate even when their dates differ.

Storey County Release Facility

Storey County Detention Center is the county's only operating adult jail. It holds adult local detainees and eligible local sentences. Convicted felons move to state prison or probation. Juveniles are housed through a Carson City facility and are outside this adult release search. No operating state prison, federal detention center, or ICE detention facility was verified within Storey County.

The official current-facility page documents the jail's capacity and history.

The county page identifies the current jail, while the 2024 Master Plan describes future repair or replacement planning.

Storey Release Facility May Change

The 2024 Master Plan says the small jail needs major structural repair and schedules rehabilitation or replacement by 2030. That is a plan, not a completed project. A possible future McCarran holding-cell concept was also not an operating jail when described and does not belong in the current facility list.

Recheck the official county facility and Sheriff pages before relying on an address or process after a major capital change. At present, the adult facility list contains one entry: Storey County Detention Center.
